Our Lab

G’ Day! and welcome to our lab blog. In this first post we’ll show you what we do and who we are.

The Clinical Psychophysics Unit is a research unit of the Department of Optometry and Vision Sciences at The University of Melbourne. This lab aims to better understand normal visual processing and damage due to disease.

The lab runs under the supervision of Associate Professor Allison McKendrick and Associate Professor Andrew Turpin, and focuses on these different areas of research:

a) Ageing and vision

Main researchers: Bao Nguyen, Kabilan Pitchaimuthu, Jia Jia Lek, Menaka Malavita

 b) Audiovisual integration

Main researchers: Janet Chan,Cassie Brooks

 c) Migraine

Main researchers: Bao Nguyen

d) Glaucoma, structure and function and improvement of visual field testing

Main researchers: Luke Chong, Jia Jia Lek, Nikki Rubinstein, Shonraj Ballae, Siyuan Chen, Juan Sepulveda
